EPC office in Shwe Nyaung Township received a bomb warning

Southern Shan State Taunggyi Township, On August 18, a notification was issued on their social media page that the Joe Phu Guerrilla Force (JPGF) had issued a bomb warning to Shwe Nyaung City’s Electrical Engineering Office (EPC).

The EPC office in Shwe Nyaung City forcibly collects meter taxes according to the military council. Threats are being made to cut off electricity to those who do not carry meters. The press release stated that a soft bomb was detonated at around 6:00 a.m. on August 16 to warn the people to stop these improper actions, when everything is difficult.

“People are not harmed. The building and the car in the office courtyard were hit. The EPC office is in front of the police station. I only threw it near the car because I was afraid it would hurt people. It was just a warning, so I only shot it near the car because it would be bad if people touched it,” said , the information officer of the Joe Phyu Guerrilla Force (JPGF).
