The military council set fire to Thin Taw village in Minking Township

It is reported that the military council troops set fire to the village of 500 houses in Minking Township of Sagaing Division yesterday, August 18, at around 8:00 am. At present, the local people in Thin Taw village are fleeing from the military council, so the number of houses that have been burnt down is not yet known in detail, said a local resident.

“We have been fleeing ever since the military council transport group began to gather down the Chindwin River. Yesterday, a 70-year-old grandfather died of suffocation. All are running away. It’s raining, so there are difficulties from health to basic cooking,” said a local resident who did not want to be named for security reasons.

It is reported that the Military Council fleet that has flown down the Chindwin River has anchored near the village of Thin Taw.
